We can’t think of a more unique setting for an engagement session for a couple building their home together than at IKEA.
Tashia and Jason are getting married today (Yay!) and within the past year they have been substantially building together. When they told us they were choosing IKEA for their engagement session, we thought it was absolutely perfect. These two fit together completely, tight and snug. Both balancing each other out in different aspects of their lives together.
If you’ve followed us for a while,
we talk a lot about the importance of balancing masculine and feminine energies within your marriage, It brings the best out of each other and when we’re with this couple you can just feel that it’s all there, perfectly balanced.
Ikea has been one of our favorite places to shop for our home since we settled in our home 6 years ago but it was our first time shopping and shooting in IKEA and it was even cooler than we thought it would be. It was pretty chilly that day but we had to get some iconic shots outside before we moved indoors. While we were in, we made sure not to be too invasive of the space and to be there at a time where not a lot of people were present shopping. We took advantage of different home set-ups to make our couple feel like they were in the comfort of their home together.
What really made us excited was the coffee shop set-up that Ikea had…oh, we had fun here. Tashia and Jason got to play pretend with each other and play Barista. We played a few games together while we were here and we just a had a really good time before heading on to the next setting.
The next setting,
we came into reflected our bride’s world. She works and connects with her clients from home, many times virtually so we played around with the idea of her working while Jason distracts her and brings her into his world. They headed over to the library and picked out a book that best reflected them, which happened to be PARTNERS IN PROSPERITY. Totally fitting for these two.
Near the end of the session,
we kept in mind how much these two like traveling and being outdoors so we did a few photos in the patio to get a nice outside feel. Then we finished up our session where everyone finishes their trip to Ikea, in the warehouse.
