There's an old saying that food brings people together.
After celebrating my birthday at Schola in Baltimore, I can confidently say that making the food together might be even better.
This year, instead of a traditional dinner, I invited some of my favorite people to a pasta-making class, and somewhere between the flour, eggs, laughter, and an unreasonable number of questions, we created more than just an incredible meal. We created memories.
I've always loved my experiences at Schola, but sharing it with friends made the afternoon even more meaningful. We learned new skills, laughed at our mistakes, celebrated our successes, and ended the class gathered around the table enjoying a meal we had created together.
A special thank you to Amy, who helped coordinate the experience and made sure everyone felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. She answered every question (even the ridiculous ones!) with patience and kindness, helping make the day unforgettable.
As photographers, Garrett and I often talk about how the most meaningful memories aren't always found in grand moments. Sometimes they're found around a table, sharing a meal, laughing until your face hurts, and simply enjoying the people who make life sweeter.
Thank you to every friend who came to celebrate with me. My birthday was made even more special because I got to spend it with all of you.
Now... who's hosting the first homemade pasta night?
Love Deeply,
