my husband and I have had the joy of photographing love stories in some of the most beautiful cities in the world — and Washington, D.C. will forever hold a special place in our hearts. As Black DC Wedding Photographers who specialize in a photojournalistic and editorial style, we see the city not just as a backdrop, but as a living, breathing part of each couple’s story.

From the marble steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the charming cobblestone streets of Georgetown, DC offers endless opportunities for romantic, timeless imagery. The monuments stand as symbols of history and legacy — values that resonate deeply with us as husband and wife wedding photographers. Whether it’s a sunrise session by the Tidal Basin in springtime or a candlelit reception in one of DC’s historic venues, the city always brings an unmatched sense of grandeur and intimacy.

We respectfully (and unapologetically) disagree with the current president’s remarks painting DC — and Baltimore — as “horrible, dirty, crime-ridden death traps.” Those words could never define the cities we know. To us, these are vibrant, soulful places brimming with art, culture, and love. We’ve seen first-hand how communities here grow stronger, celebrate their heritage, and stand in unity. It is truly an honor to serve the residents of DC and witness its diverse communities thriving. We stand alongside the many who value moral dignity, progress, and compassion.
