Hey Guys! So this was a happy accident :)
Lindsey + Tyler booked their engagement session months ago. They wanted to make sure that they secured an October date and they wanted their session to take place in their hometown of Ellicott City. October is always the busiest month for wedding photographers so it was so refreshing to step away from the chaos of weddings to relax with a newly engaged couple.
What we weren’t expecting was all of the Harry Potter themed decor all around the town! Apparently October in Old EC is MUGGLE MONTH! And all of the shops and restaurants have our favorite wizards flair spread everywhere! We were even lucky enough to grab some Butter Beer at the Georgia Grace Cafe with a keepsake Harry Potter cup to take home (that' I’ll be proudly using all month long). I had a Bitter Beer frappe from Georgia Grace Cafe that was sooo delicious you could swear that it was made right at The Three Broomsticks. It was served warm with a nice dollop of whipped cream on top! Absolutely perfect for the season!
Throughout our walk with this sweet couple we found floating candles and the golden snitch (a lot of them actually). We also found diagon alley and platform 9 3/4. There was also an alley of purple flowers (aconite, maybe?) and we proudly fangirled at one of he Harry Potter themed train sets in one of the shops on Main Street.
Lindsey and Tyler bought their dog with them to join on some of the photos. since he wont be able to make it to the wedding this is a great way to incorporate him into their love story. If you’d like to bring your pup to your engagement session, not only do we recommend it but we also wrote up a few tips on how to go about it the best way, check it out HERE :)
If you’re a big Harry Potter fan, you should also check out this Harry Potter themed wedding that we did right HERE.
But if anything today, I hope that we inspired you to not only visit Ellicott City this month but to LOVE DEEPLY.
Cherish the moments you have with each other and make the moments count.
We hope you enjoyed this! We’re happy to prove that you don’t need to leave the country to have that destination wedding you’ve always dreamt of! And if you’re still in the process of looking for a photographer, we hope that you consider us :) We would love to meet you anywhere in the world to document your love story. Speak with you soon!
