If you know us, you know that we value love, passion and art. Last month, we admittedly got caught up in all 3 of those without warning. To give a quick recap of February 2018 so you can grasp the severity of the inspiration, read on.
You may remember 24 Ours (our branding photography clients) from a previous blog. We connected with them last year when they needed branding images to promote their newest audio project. One of the members from this group, A Poet Named Nate, organized and hosted a Spoken Word Production in Baltimore City (at Arena Players Theater). The event featured 20 talented artists, all with a unique and powerful message to deliver to an eager audience. This is the second time that Nate has produced a show at this magnitude, filling up seats and minds at a poetry show like one no one has ever seen. Outside of the main event, Nate arranged for locally owned business owners to set up their art and products to promote and sell to guests before and after the show. All in all, without being biased it was an awesome night.
After editing the photos from the events, we sat back and thought Wow, this young black guy in his early twenties really put all of this together. He’s making a conscious effort to inject his community with positive, self-awareness while also addressing the issues that affect our society. He’s giving an additional platform to spoken word artists as well as giving opportunity to business owners who are eager to serve the public.
We are inspired by him and all of the artists involved in this event. We thank them for opening their hearts to us to show us what’s important to them and why it should be important to us. The next event will be in May and we can’t wait to see what they have planned next.
