Still looking for the perfect wedding venue?
This brand new venue in Frederick, Maryland could be THE ONE!
It’s not easy choosing and picking the right place for your celebration (trust us, we know!) and if you’re in Maryland than I know that you have a ton of awesome options!
But today we wanted to take a little time to Talk about Citizens Ballroom and sharing some of our favorite photos of the space from one of their open houses earlier this year. We’re so excited to showcase this unique upcoming venue owned and operated by Fetewell, the same owners of Main Street Ballroom and Haven Street Ballroom, because it not only offers the professional service that Fetewell is known for but the space is unlike any other space we’ve seen in Maryland.
It’s a two level venue (plus you have access to their rooftop where you can see the Frederick skyline from). It still has original pieces from the historic bank (like the tiles Kate has been working on that you can see on her social media). The safe is still there and is an awesome place to take photos in.
What was once an historic bank has been reconstructed and repurposed as an event friendly ballroom for all types of events!
What makes us really excited (as wedding photographers) is how white and clean the owner has designed the space. As photographers, we love that she did that because when taking photos we’re confident that all skin tones are represented true to their natural original color. We also love the large windows that let all that beautiful natural light in. We often say that “Lighting is Everything!”, this especially rings true at this venue!
We also love this venues style because you can literally choose any type of decor for this space. For this day they chose black, gold, and silver decor to accentuate the details of the space. But if you’re a bride who always dreamed of having a royal blue wedding, that look would work here too!
The owner shares on social media often
about all the upgrades that she has made to the space and also shares the reasons why she makes those decisions. It brings a new appreciation to wedding venues when they share all of the hard work that goes in to making their location a haven for their guests. We admire the work that Kate and her team put into their location and the dedication they have to make each event a one of a kind experience.
