We love talking about Business Branding (even if we don’t post about it a lot here on the blog) but in real life, outside of photographing weddings, we help lots of local entrepreneurs appeal to their target audience. We offer consultations and mentorship to those who want to excel in their passion and lately, we’ve been seeing a need for media professionals (like photographers and videographers) to come together to create inspiring content together.
So this year, we started creating opportunities for us all to come and create together. Earlier this year we hosted an open house at one of Maryland’s top venues and last week we hosted our largest wedding styled shoot that involved 20 vendors and invited 6 photographers to join in. It was a great way to meet some photographers while giving them stunning content for their portfolios and the opportunity to network with other wedding pros to expand their brand.
One of my goals for this first year of full-time entrepreneurship was to meet the people I admire on social media and work with them so that we all can expand in the wedding industry. As I become closer and closer to my due date, I’ve seen how important it is to have photographer friends who are willing to help out whenever and wherever they can. The community that we’ve surrounded ourselves with has been so supportive and helpful throughout this new journey and we are so thankful to have these creatives in our lives.
Networking with other photographers has been such a learning experience this year. Not only have we made some new friends in whom we can rely on in a pinch, but we’ve learned of so many ways to improve our craft and our business. Plussss, having photographer friends gives us an excuse to have and take some creative headshots :) Here’s our friend Chris Valentine, Design By Valentine. He was the videographer for This Wedding!
