We can’t hold back our excitement any more...

THE WIZ IS COMING TO TOWN! I (Megan) have been a fan of The Wiz for as long as I can remember. As a dance and theater-kid, It's a musical that I can sing and reference at any given time so when we were asked to photograph the press release, I was over the moon and couldn't wait to ease on down the road!

In 1974,

The Wiz made it’s world premiere right here in Baltimore and this weekend, after all these years, The Wiz is returning! We had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the producers (including Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker), the fearless director (Schele Williams), the music supervisor (Joseph Joubert) and some of the cast during the press release. Melody Betts (“Aunt Em”) gave us a sample of what we can expect from the musical by signing “Believe in Yourself” and leaving us all in awe and in tears. Dawn Moore (Baltimore’s first Lady) came to welcome everyone to our city for his beautiful kickoff!

After the press release,

everyone chatted excitedly about the upcoming this theatrical masterpiece that was coming to the Hippodrome while snacking on custom cookies by Belly Full Baked Goods. We all shared stories and best wishes with everyone. Garrett and I gathered everyone (Including all of the Delta Sorrors and The Hippodrome family) to take photos to commemorate the event. The Wiz is a timeless tale with unforgettable music, and incredible characters are etched into the fabric of entertainment history. We are so excited to welcome it into our favorite city.
