Surprise Proposal at Citizens Ballroom in Frederick, Maryland
Happy National Proposal Day!
We have a really good one for you tonight…
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of giving complimentary engagement sessions to couples during an open house at Citizens Ballroom, a brand new wedding venue in Frederick, Maryland. I shot 11 couples that day and the one that really blew me away was the last one to come in. Sarah knew our work from Instagram but it was our first time meeting, regardless the energy was like we had previously met (she even mentioned our love for street tacos). She mentioned she wasn’t engaged yet but she’s planning ahead.
In the beginning stages of our session together, I asked Sarah and Tom what was their favorite part of their venue tour (so that I could incorporate that into their photos). They both really loved the vault in the center of the venue so we made our way on over and then I asked if they wanted to take photos inside of the vault. They happily agreed but when they went in the barred vault door shut and locked!
“I’ll be right back! I’ll go get Kate to open it for you!” I put my camera and rush over to Kate to ask her open the vault. Just then, I heard Sarah gasp and squeal. I turn around to find Tom on bended knee asking Sarah to be his Wife. I ran back to my camera in front of the vault, quickly changed my settings and documented the moment that would change these two lives forever. Sarah pulled him towards her for a long sentimental embrace and Kate unlocked the door and we continued our session…
And Oh, She Said Yes!
There was a not a dry eye in the building and we could not stop celebrating with this couple. It was a perfect end to the evening.
