Celebrating the Grand Opening of the M&T Bank Exchange: A New Hub for Arts and Community in Baltimore
Last year, we had the honor of documenting the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of the M&T Bank Exchange in Baltimore, Maryland.
This remarkable space is the result of over six years of effort, $20 million in funding, and a dedicated team passionate about uplifting West Baltimore. The M&T Bank Exchange is poised to be a vibrant hub for the arts, educational outreach, and events, complementing the Hippodrome Theatre’s mission to make live theatre accessible to all.
The grand opening was a night to remember. Guests gathered in the elegant lobby, eager to see the unveiling. Once the ribbon was cut, the crowd explored the space in awe, marveling at the beautifully designed interior.
The celebration featured live performances from the Hippodrome Foundation, circus acts soaring overhead, and a live band that kept the energy high. With three floors to enjoy, guests indulged in signature drinks, charcuterie by Classic Catering, and danced the night away. Select Event Group and White Glove Rentals transformed the space with chic furniture, adding to the sophisticated atmosphere. Evon Dior Michelle welcomed guests in the Broadway Lounge, while Darcelle hosted speeches and kicked off a lively Soul Train line with Go Go Gadget bringing the party to life.
As the night wound down, stilt walkers in golden outfits joined the crowd, creating a magical end to a spectacular evening. We were thrilled to capture this milestone and can’t wait to see the future of the M&T Bank Exchange as it continues to enrich Baltimore’s community.
