Classically Romantic Wedding at Historic Governor Calvert's House in Annapolis with a Wanderlust Theme | Maryland Wedding Photography

Remember Sarah and Tom

From the surprise proposal at Citizens Ballroom and the tropical engagement session at the Rawling Conservatory? Yea, them!

Well…

They got married this year at the Historic Home of Governor Calvert in Annapolis, Maryland. The Historic Inn of Annapolis is in the heart of the downtown historic district featuring timeless elegance with modern conveniences. it is a unique Maryland wedding venue offering a unique charm and ambience. Sarah said as soon as she visited the venue she fell in love and could see her vision really come to life there.

Sarah and Tom’s theme for their wedding not only included celebrating the classic ambiance of this space by use of white florals and live classical string quartet but also paid homage to their love for traveling the world by accenting the venue with rich tropical greenery.

Their sweet pup was able to make it the ceremony and was the ring bearer. They had a beautiful candle lit ceremony in the presence of all their closest friends and family. They paid homage to those were unable to make it and the love was felt throughout the room.

Our Shooting Style:

We do our best not to be intrusive during the ceremony. We do not want to disturb our couple or their guests at this time but we do want to get different vantage points to give our couples a 360 perception of their memories.

We used natural light as much as we could throughout the ceremony to show the true ambiance of the venue because we always think thats an important factor.

We love using different focal lengths to show the grand scheme as well as the minute details within the day to give our couple a full view of the most important moments. We also enjoy catching guests reactions to certain things that happen during the ceremony. We typically do family formal photos after the ceremony but we love capturing those candid shots that make the day fun and memorable.

Between family formal photos we took bride and groom portraits before heading the front of the Inn to pop Champagne! The couple took a few photos outside the inn before walking around the historic district for a little bit before the reception started.

We dint typically take photos of people while they eat )because no one ever really likes those photos) but afterwards we capture all of the action on the dance floor. We do usually use flash for this portion of the day unless natural light is amply available.

We hope this blog has been helpful to you and that you enjoy the photos! Thank you Sarah and Tom for having us!

We are a loving Husband and Wife Destination Wedding Photography team that specializes in capturing real couples deeply in love. We take pride in connecting with our couples and making them comfortable in front of the camera so that their most precious memories evoke authentic emotion and look magazine-worthy. We believe all of our couples deserve that kind of experience for their wedding experience.
