Why We're Excited to Share Our Couple's Wedding Photos
A Wedding Planner recently asked us
“What benefits do you get by sharing a couples photos after you’ve delivered their gallery?”
It’s not a question that we receive often but I thought it would make an excellent blog. So just in case your wondering why we share highlights of each of our couples day (except those who opt to have a Non-Disclosure Agreement with us), well we’ve narrowed it down to 3 main reasons that we’ll share with you while we share some of our photos from Josh and Mariela’s Wedding this past summer in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
The first reason is the most obvious…
We share our couples photos to help inspire future couples who want to get married and wish to see a couple who actually looks like them instead of the cookie cutter brides you always see in the magazines. Take this couple for example, Joshua and Mariela chose to get married (safely) during the pandemic despite not seeing a lot of blogs or publications about doing it yet.
They were able to pull a selection of their closest family members together, do a livestream for those who couldn’t make it and translate the ceremony from English to Spanish for some of the bride’s family to fully appreciate. There ceremony wasn’t big and flashy but they had everything they needed for a beautiful and intimate celebration. After their ceremony at their church, they headed over to the National Harbor for photos and a hearty family dinner at one of their favorite restaurants. Now when another Hispanic Bride and African American Groom are looking for wedding ideas and inspiration around the Washington DC area, they could hopefully run into this blog and get some ideas or inspiration for their own wedding.
The Second reason comes from pure Artistry
Garrett and I started our photography journey in 2010 and we’ve come a LONG way in the past decade. We’re so proud of that growth and not afraid to show it! We’re happy to invest in our education when it comes to photography which is why we’re always excited to learn something new and show it to others. We’ve also heard from our past and present couples how happy they are happy to see us excel the way that we have and encourage us to keep learning and posting our progress.
Thanks to the United States Copyright Laws, Photographers have the right to share their art, to inspire others and to persuade others to use their services by use of their art. Which brings us to our final reason to why we share our photography.
The third reason ensures that we can continue working as professional photographers.
As long as we can share our photography publicly and push our message that ALL couples deserve a high quality wedding photography experience (not just the models you see on the cover of magazines); then we can continue to do what we love while supporting our family. Photography with Megapixels Media is something that we’ve done since we were married and it’s something that we genuinely enjoy doing, not to mention it’s my full-time job now. So sharing photos of our clients is crucial to keep it all going. Of course we understand in some situations clients cannot have any of their photos shared which is why we will always offer a Non-disclosure agreement option with our packages. But in most cases, our clients don’t mind that we share the highlights of their day along with some tips to help inspire future couples.
We hope these tips have been helpful, if you would like to read more of our COVID Wedding related blogs check out THE COVID COLLECTION. If your interested in having us as your trusted wedding photographers and/or videographers contact us at HELLO@MEGAPIXELSMEDIA.COM.
Love Deeply,
