Multicultural Wedding at The Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore City | Maryland Wedding Photographers
One of our favorite 2018 couples unexpectedly turned into one of our most unique 2019 couple. Today,we’re sharing there story because even with a ton of planning things don’t always work out the way you imagined and sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances you’ll even need to reschedule your wedding day. It’s a stressful reality that many couples hate facing but we’re here to share that it happens to a lot of couples and it’s not the end of the world and you can still have a beautiful day!
What do you do when you’re Wedding doesn’t go as planned?
As seasoned wedding photographers, it’s something that we address in our contract when we book a couple. We try our hardest to share real-life situations with our couples before they book just to give them a transparent and honest outlook on the wedding world. For us, if for some reason you need to reschedule your wedding date we ask that you let us know immediately and we coordinate to find a new wedding date. We’re still your photographers and we still want to be there for you in any way that we can to help you through this time. As an engaged couple, we too, wanted the illustrious Autumn Wedding that many brides dream about but due to some unexpected setbacks we weren’t able to have that kind of wedding and instead got married mid December(2013) and...it was AWESOME! Nope, not at all what we thought our wedding would be like but DEFINITELY one of the best nights of our lives! Come to find out the wedding planning journey is a great time to turn lemons into some sweet hard lemonade!
Which brings us to this couple (who reminded us a lot of ourselves in a way), Electra and Marwan planned the perfect autumn wedding for October 2018 but unfortunately they ran into a situation where they needed to reschedule for a latter date in 2019 (it happens). It wasn’t the end of the world but it did create a lot of unforeseen work for our bride. After coordinating with her vendors about a new date and informant her guests that there’s been a change in plans, she rolled with the punches and had the most beautiful Autumn wedding this Spring!
Electra made her day so unique and something that no one would expect to see in March. She wore a stunning bespoke red wedding dress while Marwan sported a classic black Tux. Electra spent the morning celebrating with her girls at Hotel Monaco while Marwan got ready at the apartment with his boys just down the street. When it was time to leave to go to the venue, Garrett and I found a place where they could do a first look before they introduced themselves as husband and wife to their guests at the Belvedere in Baltimore City. When they both saw each other they exploded with joy and could not keep their hands off each other...this day was a long time coming. They shared some intimate sweet words to each other and exchanged rings right there on the spot in front of their wedding party!
Once family formal photos were complete they headed to the venue to meet their guests for the reception. The Belvedere Hotel was beautifully decorated in red, navy blue and orange hues with some decor that Electra put together herself. we could overhear her guests saying how beautiful everything turned out and this was before all of the fabulous festivities! She had guest dancers come to perform and celebrate the joining of cultures that this union created.
So no, the day didn’t exactly turn out the way the couple originally planned but they did what we always encourage our couples to do… MAKE IT YOUR OWN. If there’s anything we can past down to other couples getting married it is to…
Do things Your Way (even if you have to make up your own rules)
Be Yourself and Have Fun!
Love Deeply (because life moves by too fast to dwell on what didn’t happen)
Live Fearlessly ( if you want a red wedding gown, WEAR IT!)
Thank you electra and Marwan for inspiring us to keep working with creative and fearless couples. We hope you guys inspire many other couples through these photos and your Love story together :)
Love Deeply,
Megan + Garrett
