The Importance Praying for Each Other | Megapixels Media Photography

We don’t consider ourselves to be super religious people. We don’t make it to church as often as we should and probably don’t fit the mold of the “Ideal Christian”. BUT we both have very strong core beliefs in what we assume the purpose of this human experience is meant to be like with each other. We rarely talk about our personal beliefs here on the blog but if we’ve ever met in person, you’ve probably heard us speak about our spirituality and how it connects to the universe through our words, our actions and our thoughts.

Without veering too off track of what this blog post is really about, one practice that the both of us to do for each other every day is Prayer. It’s not super formal and most of the time we don’t even do it together but it’s something we both take a few minutes to do every day (especially within the past year of marriage). Through prayer we speak words of affirmation for one another, we express true intentions for our future together and we convey our feelings to God, a higher power, about our struggles as an individual as well as the conflicts we face as a unit.

When we met with Kendra and Andrew this past weekend for their engagement session, they bought 2 props to inspire this blog topic: Two Books, 31 Prayers for My Future Husband and 31 Prayers for My Future Wife by Jennifer and Aaron Smith. (They also bought along Hot Wings but we’ll get around to that later). The couple expressed how important it was to include prayer into their relationship through dating, being engaged and throughout marriage. They wanted to include these two books in their engagement session to really show how important prayer and self-reflection is in their relationship.

They both recommend these books for dating, engaged and married couples as it gives some great prayer cues and inspiration for living a prosperous and purposeful life with your loved one. You can purchase for yourself or as a Gift (under $20) for someone else HERE.

We view prayer not only as us asking God to bless our marriage but also as a daily internal dialogue of gratitude for each other. There are words that go left unsaid each day to one another. There are also thoughts that we sometimes don’t bother sharing with one another. So when we can open up to a higher power about these things it takes a lot of emotional weight from us. Not to mention, sometimes just talking out a problem makes you realize the solution before it grows into something unmanageable. When we pray for each other, we make it a point to not only pray for the things that we know about but also for the unknown, the things that haven’t quite happened yet and for the things that seem impossible.

Like many couples that we’re connected with, we’re striving to live incredible lives together. We’re striving for happiness with each other as well as peace within ourselves. Being spiritually centered and balanced helps not only with our marriage but also with our business. As a husband and Wife team that is crucial when working in the line of work that we do. It’s something that our couples pick up on and it’s an attitude that we wish to spread to the world.

We hope you enjoyed this blog and took something away from it. We also hope it helps you create your own creative engagement session to reflect your relationship!
