How to Have an Authentic Engagement Session | Maryland Wedding Photographers
When we first talked to Deanna and Dillon about Engagement Session Locations; Deanna expressed that she really wanted to go to the Sunflower Field. With the crazy weather that Maryland received through September and October, the Sunflower fields didn’t really reach it’s full potential so instead we chose a different location but before Garrett and I showed up to meet our couple, we stopped at Trader Joe’s to buy some fresh picked sunflowers to add a pop of color to their shoot and to remind her of the original plans.
It was a grey, overcast, autumn day and the vibrant yellow flowers not only liven up the scenery but they really made Deanna smile because of how much those flowers meant to her. “I always imagined my engagement session with sunflowers”
Dobby, their dog, tagged along for some of the photos as well. Adding a familiar face to your engagement session will create beautiful memories to look back on in the future and create a very personal tie to your photos that will make them stand out beyond the rest.
Halfway through their session, Deanna and Dillon changed outfits and honored one of their passions. Dillon became a State Trooper this year and honoring this accomplishment in his uniform was one of the highlights of their day.
Sooo long story short, this couple made their engagement session authentic by including elements that are personal and sentimental to them like including her favorite flowers and wearing his uniform while walking their favorite furbaby :) You can have an authentic engagement session too by adding elements of your life into your session. Make it authentically yours.
