#UnapologeticallyBlessed

2 words that make such a strong statement. 2 words that one of our brides hashtagged in the caption of a photo posted on facebook a day after her wedding.

“#UnapologeticallyBlessed”

Yes, I often say that I am blessed, but I don’t think I’ve ever said that I was unapologetically blessed. I guess I never really thought about it til I was on a plane heading back home from our first destination wedding.

Unapologetically Blessed: To know that you are blessed, to recognize that you are held in God’s favor, to understand that you are worthy of great things and to not feel any regret or guilt about it.  (My definition… Webster wasn’t much help when it came to this)

I feel like, sometimes, when awesome things happen to us we question it. We doubt the validity of it and even offer some of it away because we feel like we’re not worthy of it all. I know I’ve done this, even when it comes to our photography business. In the past, I’ve turned down some interesting opportunities and returned large tips because I didn’t feel as though I deserved all of that just yet. I didn’t value myself enough and I know now, that that kind of attitude stunted my own growth. I could have traveled more with my camera when I was younger and I could have bought a new lens with that extra tip-money if I just would have accepted what was given to me.  I should never question what God has in store for me because seriously, who are we to question God’s Plan for us?

Sometimes God will send you things that you need before you even know that you need it. So when something magnificent comes your way, grab it! Pray on it, cherish it, know that it was sent to you and use it to do good in your world. Use it to make a piece of the world better and brighter than before. What God has for me is specifically designed for me and I can only reach my goals if I openly accept each one of His blessings (or lessons) with an open heart and mind.

I don’t make it to church half as much as I should but that doesn’t mean I don’t hear the word when it’s sent to me. I didn’t mean to get so preach-y but I it’s something that was lying on my heart and I wanted to share with you. So, to summarize, accept what God is giving to you because it is made just for you, be benevolent with your gifts and know that you are #unapologeticallyblessed.
