My Best Friend got Married! #preptime
My mother only gave birth to one child but I am blessed enough to have sisters.
Tiffany and I have been best friends since 6th grade and we’ve stuck by each other through thick and thin. We’ve known about every crush, fangirled at almost every Disney movie, sung Destiny’s Child CDs to each other, shared every embarrassing story among all the other BFF activities.
About 9 years ago, Tiffany told me about a guy that she was very much interested in was marine and would soon be serving the country oversees. “Welp I guess we’ll both be in long distance relationships” I joked, even though I knew Iraq is a lot further away than Pennsylvania. Girlfriend faced what most women would consider a challenge, as an opportunity to nurture and grow a substantial relationship.
During their time together they have exemplified what it means to be in a loving, loyal and trustworthy relationship. I’ve always looked forward to hearing their stories and laughing at all of the similarities that Tiffany (who is also a single-child) faces with sharing her life with a man. I am honored to help celebrate their union with all of their loved ones in the presence of God. We laughed and cried (mostly Tiffany) so much last weekend! And although it came close- nobody died, that was great!
If I had faith in myself to not cry during a toast at the reception I would have said something like: Be bold in your marriage, try new things, travel often, document your adventures and love each other deeply always. Enjoy each other’s company but remember to host some get-together’s (or a vacation) so we can all see each other again and enjoy the next chapter in life together.
“Best friends are the family you can choose.” I am thrilled to call Tiffany and James my family :) See you two soon!
Big Thank You to the Best Maid of Honor, Lenita, for taking some awesome shots!
