Earlier this month, we attended Upskill Artistry and Beauty’s first hands-on Make-up class, located at Artstar Custom Paintworks in Downtown Baltimore, Maryland. First, let me say how awesome these two Artists are. Natalie and Marisa are not only extremely talented and seasoned Make-Up Artists, but compassionate teachers of the significance of holistic and cruelty-free cosmetic application to the everyday girl. Their mission is to provide cruelty-free makeup classes designed to empower your inner queen.

I participated in the Classic Trends Makeup Class while Garrett floated around in the background to get some behind the scenes shots. When we arrived everyone’s make-up station was fully set-up with a personal mirror, pen and paper to take notes, cosmetics, Boxed Water and a delicious Vegan Berry Pie (from the Pie Cycle). Kelly Walker, the owner of Artstar Custom Paintworks, came out to give a warm introduction and to offer the class homemade apple cider.

This class was exactly what I needed for the upcoming Holiday parties. Marisa and Natalie gave the class step-by-step instructions on how to apply the infamous winged liner. They showed us how to do it on almond-shaped eyes as well as how to do it on hooded eyes. Nobody was left out (except Garrett) and all of our questions were answered promptly and thoroughly.  After we were wing-lined and tight-lined, they showed us their professional make-up artist’s tricks and tips on how to apply false eye-lashes… and yes, they supplied the fabulous lashes as well as all of the make-up and application utensils! Once our eyes were complete, they showed us how to create the perfect red lip. This was the final step that really made our inner Queen shine through!

As if that weren’t enough, they gave us all goodie bags with Lumavera Skin Care Products and Urban Decay Cosmetics (my all-time personal favorite) to take home to use and enjoy throughout the holiday season.  They also gave us a detailed list of the products that we used, their ingredients and how they are beneficial to us. This class was a huge success and portrays the professional quality that we are proud and excited to have on our Preferred Vendors List. Needless to say, we highly recommend their classes and services to all of our brides and friends.
